The Index Engineering team at S&P Dow Jones Indices develops bespoke index solutions for institutional clients across global financial markets. This internship offers an opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, quantitative research, and technology, supporting projects that contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of innovative investment indices.

Requirements & Eligibility

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline.
• Strong interest in financial markets, investing, quantitative finance, or index investing.
• Must be able to work out of the Mumbai, India office during the internship period.
• Ability to analyze numerical data and solve analytical problems.
• Intermediate proficiency in Python and familiarity with basic data analysis concepts.
• Familiarity with Git/version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Support quantitative research initiatives related to Index Engineering.
• Explore internal analytical platforms to identify workflow improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Support exploratory projects related to workflow improvements, analytical research, or new technology initiatives.
• Assist in developing Python-based analytical utilities and workflow automation where appropriate.
• Review and validate structured data outputs under supervision.
• Support documentation of workflows, methodologies, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with global teams on testing, quality assurance, and exploratory research initiatives.
• Participate in projects involving Databricks and other internal analytical platforms.
