Overview

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for the Insights Platform in Pune to build impactful systems, contribute to the evolution of Bloomberg's Core Products and data platforms, and develop self-service tools and interfaces for data-driven insights.

About Bloomberg

Bloomberg's Engineering office in Pune, established in 2014, is now a major global engineering center. The Core Products group focuses on evolving the Bloomberg Terminal and supporting applications, designing and building user-first, integrated products that adapt to the evolving needs of global financial clients.

Requirements & Eligibility

• 5+ years of Experience working with an object-oriented programming language (C/C++, Python etc)
• A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, similar field of study or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in system design, architecture, and development of high-quality, modular, stable, and scalable software
• Interest in working with Python and C++
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and all phases of software development
• Prior experience contributing to system design/architecture of scalable and fault-tolerant distributed system

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage critical infrastructure powering Bloomberg's businesses
• Contribute to a high-impact, high-throughput distributed system dealing with high volumes of data
• Work on high visibility projects with many opportunities to interact with Senior Management
• Incorporate open source and industry standard solutions to solve problems
• Interact with various teams across Bloomberg to evangelize work and help people adopt the system
